Petite Flamme completes Rolex Middle Sea Race surfing at 26 knots

After probably the toughest 24 hours in the 46 year history of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, Swan 60 Petite Flamme has finished with an
elapsed time of 4 days and 6 hours. Starting in the light airs the wind built as predicted from the North West, boat speed accelerated rapidly propelled by the storm force winds consistently above 25 knots and Petite Flamme was catapulted towards the finishin Malta with the huge following sea.

Andy Beadsworth, Skipper, Petite Flamme was pleased again with the Swan 60’s performance throughout this year’s tough offshore finale to the season.

“We were mixing it up with the race boats right from the start and were in with a shout of winning the class all the way.  In fact we were racing them hard all the way round and finished ahead of the larger models.  It was a cracking ride at one point in 30-40 knots of breeze; we had the A3 kite up on Petite Flamme and were surfing at 26 knots in the dark.  It was the best ride of their lives and the owner truly loved the experience”.
