Fresh Face to Gapzrom 60 Class Stephen Cucchiaro hot on the heels of Bronenosec
With winds in the straits recording 35 to 40 knots on day 4 four of the Rolex Swan Cup, the Gazprom Swan 60 Class remained onshore under orders from the race committee. Current standings on the scoreboard are close for the top 4 boats; Bronenosec sits in 2nd place only 1 point away from 1st behind Wohpe. @robas and Petite Flamme both on 7 points are joint 3rd, they need only climb 3 points to be in contention for 1st or 2nd place.
Stephen Cucchiaro, helm of Petite Flamme, is a fresh face to the Gazprom Swan 60 Class and is already hot on the heels of season favourite Bronenosec. The USA entry is still within grasp of victory in Class A1 at the Rolex Swan Cup, this is a very significant achievement for the new competitor on the race course this year. Mr Cucchiaro, who always speaks highly of his crew ahead of himself, noted the Swan 60’s quality of performance afloat.

Peter Lebrandt’s, Swan 60 Vertical Smile, also has potential to feature on the podium at the Rolex Swan Cup this year. The Danish team, at home in the stronger winds, took a very commendable 4th spot in yesterday’s 51nm race showing their stamina in the longer races.
