Executive Committee are Announced

The Executive Committee of the newly created Gazprom Swan 60 Class has now been announced. The President of the Executive Committee is Vladimir Liubomirov, Commodore of the Yacht Club of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Mr Liubomirov is the proud owner of Swan 60, Bronenosec and throughout 2012 he won a series of high profile races and regattas including the Rolex Swan Cup Maxi Class and the Nord Stream Race. Vladimir’s passion for sailing and the local community shines through with the development he is leading at the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg. Vladimir holds the Gazprom Swan 60 Class close to his heart, and his passion for reigniting Russian sailing spirit is evident in his involvement in the class.

Joining Mr Liubomirov will be Owner Member Dr Johann Killinger, Chairman of Buss Group and owner of the first ever Swan 60, Emma. Dr Killinger bought Emma in August 2009 for cruising with his family and has always envisaged a one design class in the future. Dr Killinger has been appointed the role of Owner Member to offer advice to the Executive Committee from a current sailor’s point of view. Johann’s determination for a one design class will prevail as the 2013 circuit and beyond is set to impress.

The Copyright Holder of the Executive Committee has been announced as Enrico Chieffi, Managing Director of Nautor’s Swan. Mr Chieffi has been working with the world renowned luxury yacht manufacturing company for 14 years. A former Star and 470 dinghy World Champion, Chieffi, is part of the international yachting glitterati. The global sailing fraternity respect Chieffi’s experience and draw on his knowledge when investigating opportunities within the current ‘SwanLine’. Enrico’s personal interest in the class and his role at Nautor’s Swan has led him to take up the position of Copyright Holder.

The Class manager position will be taken by Inga Leask, Director of Fast Track Sailing. Inga has over 10 years first-hand experience as a member of the British Sailing Team, having achieved world class results as a competitor. Inga will take up the role as Class Manager for the Gazprom Swan 60 Class, continuing to offer her extensive knowledge and passion for the brand and insuring the circuit demonstrates the capabilities of the fantastic Swan 60.

Sitting alongside the rest of the Executive Committee will be the Chairman of the Technical Committee, Mike Urwin. As Technical Manager, Mike Urwin will offer his extensive knowledge and experience in the field, advising on all technical and safety related matters.

The Gazprom Swan 60 Class now begins 2013 with a strong Executive Committee in place and exciting plans for the year ahead.
